How to message a musician
Updated over a week ago

Once you've begun receiving applications for your job enquiry, you'll want to communicate with the musicians who you think look and sound the most promising.

Why get in touch?

You can learn a lot about a musician's ability from watching their videos, listening to their recordings, and viewing their profile.

But, to make sure that they can provide exactly the right services for your booking, we always recommend that you get in touch with your musician. They'll be happy to hear from you!

Messages

To message a musician:

  1. Click the 'Message' icon on your enquiry page. The average time it takes the musician to reply is shown on their quote.

  2. Once you've written your message, click "Send". This will send the musician an email notification about your message, to which they'll be able to reply.

Once you're satisfied that you've confirmed arrangements with the musician, you'll need to send them a booking request by clicking the "Book now" button on their application card. Read more about booking requests here.

Why should I communicate through Encore?

Communicating with musicians through Encore helps ensure that you’re covered by our Terms and Conditions, cancellation policy, and other safeguards. It also keeps all relevant details for your enquiry and booking in a single place.

This makes it easy to find and reference any important details you've discussed with your musician—especially useful if you ever need help from our customer service team.

Making a payment or messaging outside of Encore also makes it harder for us to protect your information and personal details, putting you at a higher risk of fraud and other security issues such as phishing.
