We've put together a handy guide for making sure you keep your event COVID-safe. Follow each of the steps to make sure you can relax at your event knowing you've taken all precautions to avoid the spread of the virus.
1. Review your event itinerary β
Plan out the event space and programming in a way that minimises risk and ensures both guests and musicians arenβt forced to mingle in a space where social distancing measures are hard to keep.
2. Transparent communication π
Provide your guests with enough information to ensure they can attend in a safe manner. Common recommendations include discouraging handshakes, wearing face coverings, staying home if you feel unwell, and washing your hands often and for 20 seconds at a time. Encourage the use of hand sanitiser at every opportunity.
3. Ensure social distancing is in place π«
Provide advice and tools at your event to ensure the guests can social distance easily. This includes holding the event somewhere with plenty of space so that you can guarantee a two-meter distance can be kept in between clients attending from different households.
4. Provide cleanliness stations πΏ
Provide advice and tools at your event to ensure cleanliness is a priority throughout. This should include a hand wash station and the provision of hand sanitiser at several different locations.
You can also provide assurances to your guests about the cleanliness and health & safety of any suppliers that are booked.
5. Take your event outside if possible π³
Plan the event to take place outdoors if possible. The virus spreads a lot less outdoors, so try to make sure itβs outside, providing as much space as possible.
If this is not possible, make sure to keep a few windows open at all times to renew the air and ventilate the room. Avoid using air conditioning.
6. Communicate after the event π·
If someone contacts you after your event to say that they have fallen ill, we would advise that you then contact other attendees immediately to inform them of this. Make sure you have contact information for all your guests, including +1s.
