Understanding how to collect your past client information and get in touch with them is an important skill for any freelancer.
With the new Personalised Music Messages feature now live, we want to help you maximise your chances of winning bookings by explaining how to let your past clients know about it.
Tips for emailing your customers:
- Create a CSV file in a spreadsheet (like Google Sheets) containing the details of your past customers.
- If you don’t already have mailout software or know how to use mail merge, we recommend using a free tool called MixMax which works with any Gmail address.
- Send out the templated email we’ve already prepared for you to your customers
- Watch the bookings roll in :)
Our Bookings Executive Chiara explains how it works here:
Is this GDPR compliant?
Emailing your previous customers is covered under PECR Regulation 22 which requires that a company needs consent to send a marketing email unless the recipient is an existing customer or potential customer who has previously made an enquiry for a product or service.
So as long as you are emailing your past customers (and you do so within a reasonable time window - i.e. don't spam them), this is a legitimate way to market your services.
