Since we take the privacy of our musician members extremely seriously at Encore, you may be wondering why a phone number is required for your profile to be published.
In this article, we'll look at the reasons behind this requirement and explain how we handle your phone number to ensure your privacy stays secure.
-
Is providing my phone number a profile requirement?
The phone number field is a mandatory field on Encore, meaning we won't be able to publish your profile without it.
-
Is my phone number publicly displayed anywhere?
Despite being a profile setup requirement, Encore will never publicise your phone number or email address on your profile. Your privacy is crucial to us, and we take data protection seriously. Your phone number and email won't be displayed on your profile or shared with anyone browsing on the platform.
-
When Do We Use Your Phone Number?
We only use your phone number in specific situations:
-
Urgent Contact: In cases of urgency, such as when you're on your way to a gig and the customer experiences an issue, we may need to contact you.
-
Customer Call Request: If you accept a call request from a customer, they are provided with a different one-off number to call, which will be connected to you through our platform. This ensures your privacy is maintained!
-
Confirmed Booking: Once a booking is confirmed, your contact details are shared with the customer, and vice versa, as part of the gig agreement. This is to facilitate communication between you and the customer close to the day of the gig and helps you both have a smooth experience.

Maintaining Your Privacy
We understand you may have concerns about providing your actual phone number. If this is an issue for you, please contact support for assistance, and we can help you find a workaround.
However, be aware that without a phone number, you may not access all Encore features, such as accepting call requests and receiving emergency notifications.
